Positive Grid BIAS Amp 2 Standard Amp Modeling Plug-in

Delivered In Minutes!

Let BIAS Amp 2 Standard Do the Heavy Lifting

You'll probably agree with those of us at Sweetwater who think that amp modeling is pretty cool. It generally sounds pretty amazing these days, and for most of us, it's way more feasible than hauling a truckload of amps to and from gigs and the studio. Positive Grid has worked with session musicians and engineers worldwide to create professional custom guitar amp models and amp-matched models made from recordings in top studios. The result is BIAS Amp software, a versatile and incredibly accurate guitar amp modeler and designer. The flagship BIAS Amp 2 Standard plug-in gives you an advanced amp-modeling engine that captures the warmth and feel of real tube amps, component by component.

Fully customizable

BIAS Amp 2 Standard is fully customizable, letting you create amp models by swapping out the tubes, preamp, transformer, tone stacks, cabinets, and mics to create your own signature amps and sound. The flagship BIAS Amp 2 Standard plug-in ups the ante on dynamic tube amp behavior and features new tube types with more headroom and low- and mid-gain focus. Plus, it's compatible with BIAS Amp Packs that give you thousands of new custom amp possibilities.

Mix your mics

Recording engineers, more often then not, multi-mic guitar amps, and many legendary guitar sounds were recorded this way. Positive Grid added this functionality to BIAS Amp 2 so you can use multiple mics on the same cabinet and mix them together. Combining a dynamic mic pointed at the speaker dust cap (which captures tons of crispy treble and deep bass) with a condenser aimed in between the dust cap and the surround (less highs and more mids) gives you a tone that's fuller and rounder than either of those mics used alone. BIAS Amp 2 Standard's cabinet module has also been given a refresh, with new Open- and Closed-back cabinet emulations that allow you to authentically re-create the low and low-mid frequency response typical of each enclosure type. This gives you even more control over your tone, letting get even closer to legendary amp sounds with less effort.

What is a Sales Engineer?

For reference I've used Bias V1, Guitar Rig, Fortin Nameless, and Amplitube. Bias Amp 2 is a huge upgrade from Bias Amp 1 which I've been using since its release. It has a very nice feel, a nice depth and smooth distortion, the modeling tech has really come a long way. Fortin Nameless is also a very good option, but I feel like it was too dry and aggressive for my taste. I haven't tried the amp match yet but I'm looking forward to giving it a shot with my Mark V.

What it is: a good amp modeler for quick composing or practice. It still sounds great in a mix.

What it is not: a replacement for an actual tube amp.

If you cannot make this thing sound good, then you are an idiot! Not only do the presets sound good but having the ability to use other's presets is amazing. I've used this product on albums that have made it to Billboard top 10. I see these people writing about it being a resource hog in stand-alone and must be terrible as a plugin. I have put this plugin on more than thirty tracks with less than .5ms delay. The only issue I have is the sampling rate should be able to go above 96khz and there are some instances I have to close my daw because audio will not pass through the plugin. Could be an internal issue though and not a bug.

I'm actually going to be purchasing the hardware as well. It's a no-brainer.

...doesn't sound good and if you want it to sounds its best youll have to pay about $… the sound is super thin and sounds really bad, with that money I could of actually bought a real amp, don't repeat history.
